Lastline®,  the leader in AI-powered network security, today announced Lastline Defender for Cloud, an extension of the company’s proven on-premises technology to provide unmatched security for public cloud workloads. Initially available for Amazon Web Services (AWS), this capability subsequently will be adapted for other cloud platforms as part of the company’s comprehensive cloud security strategy. Lastline Defender for Cloud is the first native cloud Network Traffic Analysis (NTA) solution, and is the first NTA product available on the AWS Marketplace, bolstering the company’s reputation for innovative cybersecurity technology.

“As organizations migrate to the cloud, they’re expanding their attack surface, and the risk of a breach increases significantly,” commented Christopher Kruegel, Lastline Co-founder and Chief Products Officer. “Our customers are extremely happy with our current network security capabilities and have been asking us to expand that protection as they move to the cloud. Our AI-powered technology that previously was only available for on-premises networks now protects organizations entire networks, including detecting malicious activity in the public cloud.”

Recent attacks illustrate the risk of cloud workloads being compromised. Singapore Health had cloud-based healthcare records of 1.5 million patients compromised, while Equifax attackers targeted a vulnerable application in the cloud to steal 143 million credit records.

Lastline Defender for Cloud is the only solution available on the AWS Marketplace that can detect and block threats coming into the cloud as well as identify suspicious activity moving laterally within the cloud environment. It provides the ability to monitor traffic inline at the perimeter and to ingest and analyze Amazon VPC flow logs. This enables the Lastline solution to inspect both internal (East/West) and external (North/South) network connections for anomalous and malicious activity. And it eliminates the need to install agents on physical, virtual, or cloud servers.

The company’s flagship product, Lastline Defender, offers a unique approach to advanced threat protection, applying AI to both network traffic and malicious behaviors to eliminate false positives and deliver the highest fidelity insights possible. It’s what the company calls AI Done Right™. Lastline Defender can be deployed to protect on-premises networks, email platforms (both company-managed and cloud-based), and now public cloud workloads.
